BTO rules tightening

Starting this August, BTO applicants who decline a unit offered will be denoted as a second-timer for a year, and after turning down a second flat, considered ineligible for the HDB sales exercises for a year.
While this may help those who have a serious intent to secure their home, there is also the concern that homebuyers would be compelled to settle for a unit that does not align with their wishes, considering how a rejection of the flat would affect their chances in subsequent sales exercises.
Before homebuyers adjust to the new rules, the resale market may also see a temporary boost.
Planning to buy your first home, but feel unsure now that the rules are about to set in? BTO and SBF wait for no homebuyers. Get into contact with us today.
